Taylor Swift is having the best 23rd birthday ever ever ever!
The country crooner woke up Thursday to learn that she has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her song "Safe & Sound," which was featured in "The Hunger Games." Celebrating her big day in England, Swift took to Twitter to share the news, calling it the "best birthday surprise ever."
Let's just say Swift is having a pretty good birthday. Visiting rural northern England with her new boyfriend, Harry Styles, this week, she seems to be having a jolly good time exploring the One Direction star's stomping grounds. On Tuesday, the duo enjoyed pub fare, grabbing a bite at the Rising Sun restaurant in Hope Valley. After their fireside meal, they happily posed for photos with fans. Pub manager Sarah Walker told People she chatted with the "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer, who said she "loved" being in Britain and was "excited about her birthday."
The next day Swift and Styles hit up the Lake District. In the town of Bowness-on-Windermere, they did some shopping, which included a trip to the World of Beatrix Potter store. While there, the couple danced around to the holiday music that was playing in the store, and Swift purchased some toys. The lovebirds later walked to the town square where they fed some pigeons in front of the Old England Hotel & Spa.
Sadly, they didn't re-enact the "Dirty Dancing" jump again in the town square. We guess they only break out that special move during private parties.
Interestingly enough, the young lovebirds did have a chaperone with them at times. People magazine reports that Swift and Styles were accompanied by his mother during several of their outings. In case you haven't noticed, Swift doesn't tend to wait long before meeting the parents! When she dated Jake Gyllenhaal, she celebrated Thanksgiving with his family — just weeks after they started seeing each other. And over the summer when Swift was linked to Conor Kennedy, she spent much of the summer sailing and hanging out with his extended family, including his grandmother, Ethel Kennedy.
As far as Swift's birthday goes, it seems it will only get better. In addition to spending more time bonding with her new beau, she will be releasing her 23rd music video. "I Knew You Were Trouble," from her album Red, will premiere on MTV at 4:40 p.m. ET on Thursday. A teaser clip of the video shows Swift sporting pink highlights in her hair, and looking a little worse for wear after waking up on the ground at what looks to be like a music festival with garbage strewn all around her.
That is far from Swift's reality though because she's too busy having the best birthday ever ever ever.
