Matthew Fox, get ready to face the wrath of the One Direction-ers. Or, possibly worse, end up labeled a Direction-ater (Directioner hater).
While promoting his new WWII-era film, "Emperor," Fox stopped by Conan O'Brien's couch on Wednesday, where he explained the argument he's been having with his 15-year-old daughter about the hugely popular British boy band.
"She’s a huge One Direction fan," Fox said on "Conan." "She’s got this major crush on Harry Styles."
"Every time she brought up One Direction, I felt it was my responsibility to bust their chops and she'd get very upset. So, we pretty much agreed not to talk about One Direction at all anymore," he continued.
And apparently, it's time for a bit of music education in the Fox household. "I'm a huge music fan and we're having that classic father-child argument about music right now," he explained. "So, I'm trying to encourage her to explore music that's outside of boy bands."
Hey Matthew, the Coachella music fest around the corner – maybe it's time for a trip to the desert?
In Fox's well-reviewed new film, he plays a general in the U.S. military during World War II who is working for General Douglas MacArthur (played by Tommy Lee Jones) in investigating whether or not Emporer Hirohito of Japan should be executed as a war criminal following his country's defeat.
It's a far cry from his most recent turn on the big screen as the villain in last year’s "Alex Cross"!
