If you're a fan of "The Hunger Games" or "Twilight," then you probably already know all about "The Mortal Instruments" franchise.
Lily Collins, who plays heroine Clary Fray in the upcoming film series (and also happens to be Phil Collins's daughter), is clearly poised to become a big star once the first flick, "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones," hits theaters on August 21. Fortunately, she has a couple of young celebs in mind that she can look to for guidance when it comes to handling fame: Jennifer Lawrence, 22, and Kristen Stewart, 23.
"I admire how they've both handled the fame that came with those roles and their ability to step outside those roles and do other projects," the 24-year-old actress reveals in the new issue of Seventeen. "That's what I want to do: balance fun big movies with gritty passion projects I love."
One move it looks like Collins has taken from KStew's playbook is how to handle a real-life romance with your co-star. Just as "Twilight" brought Stewart and Robert Pattinson together, Lily began dating her "Mortal Instruments" co-star Jamie Campbell Bower shortly after they met on set.
"We've made a conscious decision to go out and live life," Lily explains about their romance. "I'm not one to hide anything, but I don't feel the need to comment directly on it … I think it would be a shame to not live in the moment and not enjoy everything that's happening in fear of other people's opinions."
Just because Lily may want to live in the moment doesn't mean she wants to do so while partying, like so many young stars in Hollywood do.
"I didn't feel the pleasure in drinking or doing drugs," Collins says, revealing she was a good girl in high school. "I wanted to remember the fun moments that I had with my friends and not wake up and go, 'Um, I think I had fun?'"
