Is it too soon to call this the wedding of the summer?
British Socialite Tamara Ecclestone, the daughter of billionaire Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone, married former banker Jay Rutland in what was reportedly an over-the-top $18 million wedding at the Grand-Hotel in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat in the South of France on Tuesday. A "three-day party extravaganza" in the beach town followed the wedding this week.
According to The Daily Mail (which literally has posted dozens upon dozens of photos from the wedding), the over-the-top all-white dress code event featured several celebrities such as Jason Statham, Sean Connery, Paris Hilton, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. Performers reportedly included Elton John, Lionel Richie, and DJ Mark Ronson.
Ecclestone, 28, and Rutland, 31, reportedly met in January and were engaged a month later. Ecclestone is best known from her reality show "Tamara Ecclestone: Billion $$ Girl," which aired in 2011 on the U.K.'s Channel 5.
Born in Italy and raised in the U.K., she's also spent frequent time in Hollywood in the past year. She followed her younger sister Petra, 24, here, who purchased Candy Spelling's Holmby Hills mansion in 2011 for $85 million. Tamara has been seen frequently around West Hollywood, dining at restaurants such as Madeo and working out at Barry's Bootcamp. According to TMZ, in March she had been eyeing Walt Disney's former estate, listed at $95 million.
Although Petra might currently own the more expensive Hollywood home, Tamara ultimately seems to have topped her little sis in terms of wedding expenses. Petra's 2011 wedding (when she was just 22 years old), only cost a reported $5 million, albeit it did include performances by Eric Clapton, The Black Eyed Peas, and DJ David Guetta.
