Football can make for some strange – and awesome – bedfellows.
Take the myriad of celebs that flocked to New Orleans on Friday to kick off Super Bowl weekend, hitting a packed event circuit that saw big performances and plenty of cocktails.
Sir Paul McCartney arrived at the Bud Light Hotel with only his bride, not the security or entourage one would expect of the former Beatle.
Lounging casually in the VIP section of the tented venue, Sir Paul and wife Nancy Shevell took in a performance from Flo Rida (you haven't really lived until you see McCartney mouth along to the lyrics, "Apple Bottom jeans / boots with the fur.")
Nearby Olivia Munn chatted up Sofia Vergara, both ladies eying passed trays of crab cakes and hot sauce. Meanwhile, "The Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson was low key in a flannel and baseball cap, awaiting a second performance from Pitbull with a few of his buddies.
In between Flo Rida and Pitbull's sets, DJ Samantha Ronson kept the crowd – which included NFL pals Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews, Kate Walsh, Chace Crawford, Candace Swanepoel, and Joel Kinnaman – moving with Michael Jackson tracks.
Across town, Audi took over New Orleans' Ogden Museum of Southern Art for a performance from crooner Santigold, drawing new mom Anna Faris, Ashley Greene, Hannah Simone, Barry Sanders, and budding rapper Will Ferrell.
Rounding out the night in the French Quarter was Playboy's bunny-filled celebration with Crown Royal at Jax Brewery Bistro.
Snoop Lion, David Arquette, Terrell Owens, and Daniel Dae Kim took in a set from B.o.B., who rocked the crowd with a full orchestra. Even Neil Patrick Harris got into the spirit, giving some duck face on the red carpet with some of Hugh Hefner's finest.
