What’s going on at the Governors Ball, one of the hottest Oscars afterparties in Hollywood? omg! has a reporter on the scene filling us in. Check out our timeline to get the scoop on how the stars are letting loose.
Security is tight! A security guard is handed Jennifer Lawrence’s personal ticket and asked to hold on to it until she finishes her press interviews and arrives at the gala. Oscar winner or not, she absolutely can’t enter venue without it.
Best Actor nominee Bradley Cooper enters the party holding his mom’s hand and smiling ear to ear. Cooper hangs around the Weinsten section and his "Silver Linings Playbook" cast before heading out to the Vanity Fair party.
Charlize Theron also shows up with her mom … and continues to turn heads as guests comment on "how hot she looks."
William Shatner comes in with a cane a la KStew. New trend alert!
Amy Adams lifts up her dress in order to make walking a little easier (and to avoid a JLaw fall, perhaps?) on her way in. She runs to back to grab a glass of champagne when she arrives.
Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton stand near entrance waiting to go in.
John Travolta enters solo with a security detail although his wife isn't too far behind him.
Best Supporting Actress nominee Sally Field enters the party. The red dress is totally working for her!
Best Actress nominee Jackie Weaver tells omg! that she is "thrilled" Jennifer Lawrence won and is so happy. As for JLaw’s trip on her way to stage, "Oh that's why we love her … it was just her dress. She was beautiful!"
omg! congratulates Joseph Gordon-Levitt on his performance at the show and he replies with, "Thank you so much! It was a lot of fun. I was nervous." And what does he think of our idea of nominating him as a future Oscar host? "Oh man, that is a compliment,” he says with a laugh, “but it’s a lot of work! Seth was great."
More than 12 years after marrying, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have still got it! The couple are show-stoppers upon entering. They hold court near the back of the venue and are the definition of Hollywood glamour.
Jessica Chastain and her beau, Italian fashion exec Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, enter hand in hand and though the “Zero Dark Thirty” actress seems genuinely happy when talking about fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence’s win to fellow guests.
Amanda Seyfried tells omg! that she is "a little bit bummed" all the Awards hubub is almost over. The actress dances around the "Les Mis" table where director Tom Hooper is holding court.
Hugh Jackman’s wife Deborra-Lee Furness tells Barbara Streisand she was "so surreal" during her performance and Babs seems pretty impresses with Deborra-Lee’s … ponytail and is spotted stroking it as the two chat. They’re sharing a table with John Travolta and are all sitting and laughing together. Now that is very Old Hollywood!
Adele joins the table and starts talking with her fellow Oscars performer, Babs. Meanwhile John Stamos is trying to take a Twitpic!
And yes, John already knows that JLaw has admitted he was her first crush.
"I heard! I've been trying to find her,” he tells omg!.
As for her stumble at the show, John is nothing but complimentary. “She tripped so delicately,” he tells us.
Speaking of JLaw, the Oscar winner enters the venue with her parents in tow. She heads to the Weinstein area and is greeted with cheers! The actress seems to make good on her promise to eat.
Oscar party food on the menu: Chicken pot pie, slow-braised lamb shank, mini Kobe burgers, Atlantic bigeye tuna and wild caught yellowtail snapper.
omg! chats with Oscar winner Adele! Where’s she going to put the fabled statue when she gets home? “Right by my bed!" she gushes in her adorable British accent.
One of Hollywood’s hottest couples, George Clooney and Stacy Keibler show up hand in hand. The roster of A-list guests is complete! Also, there was no shortage of PDA between the two. Clooney and Keibler were kissing the night away, and the "Argo" producer seemed just as thrilled to have his gold statue on his arm, too.
Ben Affleck is spotted with his Argo crew getting ready to get their Oscars engraved. For those who don’t know, there is a whole station in the back of the party where winners wait in line with their award to get their name and accolade forever imprinted on the gold statue. The "Argo" crew are supposedly hitting up Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood (a Clooney favorite) late night.
Hugh Jackman with wife and handler in tow head out to continue party hopping. Unfazed by losing to Daniel Day Lewis, the “Les Miserables” actor said he was quite happy during the night’s festivities: “I love my my wife, and I love my fans!”
Most winners and nominees are out the elegant doors to hit Vanity Fair’s infamous bash.
