Morena Baccarin is a mommy.
The "Homeland" star and her husband, Austin Chick, welcomed their first child together — a boy — on Tuesday. They named him Julius.
"Julius and his mother are happy and healthy,” a rep for the 34-year-old told omg!.
The baby, who weighed nearly 8 pounds, was breech but the Emmy-nominated actress was able to have a natural childbirth anyway, thanks to Dr. Ronald Wu at Glendale Adventist Medical Center. The Los Angeles-area ob-gyn is known for helping moms-to-be birth breech babies in the hospital instead of have them undergo C-sections.
"I'm so happy I was able to deliver with Dr. Wu," Baccarin said in a statement to People. "Breech delivery is a dying art and he gave me the birth experience I wanted."
Despite her slightly-more-dramatic-than-usual birth, Baccarin's pregnancy was drama free. Her wildest craving? Watermelon. She also knew the baby's gender but was waiting to see his face until she and her husband decided on a name.
The Brazilian-born star has been hiding her pregnancy on her award-winning Showtime drama. On Sunday's episode, viewers may have noticed most of her shots were from the neck up and her character Jessica Brody carried a giant handbag, which she used to hide her belly any time a scene called for a full-length shot.
Last month she told E! News that her co-star Claire Danes, who gave birth in December, gave her pregnancy advice.
"When I first got pregnant, she told me, 'Enjoy this moment when you can move, because pretty soon you're not going to be able to put your shoes on.' And she was right," Baccarin recalled.
Now that baby is here, shoes should no longer be a problem.
