The love between Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi has reached new heights.
Despite breakup rumors, the women looked happier than ever celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary on Saturday. The talk show host was in for a treat when the Arrested Development actress hired a skywriter to help mark the milestone.
"Look what my wife did for our wedding anniversary," wrote DeGeneres, who beamed as she gave her longtime partner and squeeze. "Six!"
Skywriting messages is an anniversary tradition for the women. Every year, they have the number of years they've been married written out overhead and typically invite friends and family to their abode to celebrate. (Joanna DeGeneres is always on hand to take photos at what has become an annual event.)
DeGeneres, 56, and de Rossi, 41, were married in front of their closest friends and family members at their Los Angeles home in 2008. They both wore Zac Posen and exchanged Neil Lane rings, and the event was captured on camera and later aired on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
For the last year, the women have been plagued with rumors that their marriage was going through a turbulent time, and there was a claim that de Rossi, who has battled an eating disorder, had spent time in a rehab facility. However, the smiles on their faces in this photo speak volumes.
