Orlando Bloom Makes His Broadway Debut — and a Rare Appearance With Miranda Kerr

Apparently, Shakespeare's still got it!

After Orlando Bloom made his Broadway debut as the titular hero in "Romeo and Juliet," the 36-year-old thesp stepped out for the afterparty with Miranda Kerr by his side.

Though Bloom and his co-star, Condola Rashad, received praise for their efforts, the production itself earned mixed reviews. And while some speculated that the British actor was simply too old to play the star-crossed lover — whom, if we remember correctly, is a teenager in the original play — the general consensus seems to be that even though he's more mature than the Bard intended, he's so good-looking that no one really cares. (We're paraphrasing here.)

But Bloom's debut wasn't the only buzzworthy event of the night — because his wife stunned both on the pre-show red carpet and after at the soiree that followed.

Clad in an elegant white dress, the supermodel mom channeled Juliet as she arrived to take in her husband's performance, but it was after Bloom's show was over that Kerr was truly ready to shine. After a quick outfit change into a curve-hugging black and gold number, she cuddled up to her better half and smiled.

For his part, Orlando looked totally content as he wrapped his arms affectionately around Kerr's waist. And thus, this husband and wife, who are so rarely spotted at public events together (the last was an Oscars party!), broke tradition and mugged for the cameras practically draped over each other.

Perhaps it was the romance of Shakespeare's most famous love story that brought out this snuggly side to the couple. Perhaps it was Bloom's successful Broadway debut. Whatever the cause, they both look so happy, we can only wonder why they don't hang out (in public) more often.
