Call her Godmother Monster! Lady Gaga has been such a good godparent to Elton John and David Furnish's 2-year-old son, Zachary, that the couple has asked the "Born This Way" singer to have the same role in their newborn Elijah's life.
In an interview with "Extra," the dads opened up about their new addition, who was born in January, and why they asked the 27-year-old singer to be his godmother as well.
"She’s a great role model. She’s young. She’s been a great godmother to Zachary," said John, 66, adding, "We're all bonkers in this business, but we're human beings at the same time.”
John recalled a specific time when Gaga came to visit and bonded with their elder son during his bath time.
"She came to bathe him in Las Vegas," he recalled. "She was already dressed to go to the show, and she was sitting there and she bathed him, and she was like dressed like Audrey Hepburn ... and she fed him."
John, who became a parent late in life, said he's been able to really enjoy fatherhood -- and sees no downsides to his new role.
"I love getting up in the morning and having breakfast with Zachary," John said. "Everything I thought I would find annoying about having children, like screaming and shouting and tantrums ... I don't find any of it annoying. I find it all enchanting."
Gaga probably has been skipping bath time at the John/Furnish home as of late -- for the last two months she's been recovering from hip surgery, which necessitated the use of a chic wheelchair (or two!). While she's largely been keeping a low profile as she's healed, earlier this week she was spotted out in West Hollywood sporting a new look -- a short, platinum blond 'do. And last week she was named Time magazine's second most Influential Icon of the Decade, coming in behind Burmese freedom fighter Aung San Suu Kyi.
Icon, Godmother -- not bad titles to have.
