Finally, all the rumors can be put to rest. Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy have split after four years together.
"Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," Bellamy's rep said in a statement to The Insider With Yahoo. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
The Muse rocker, 36, popped the question to the Wish I Was Here actress, 35, in April 2011. Three months later they welcomed their first child together, son Bingham Hawn Bellamy, now 3.
Rumors that there were relationship problems swirled earlier this year and Hudson even stepped out to various events without her 9-carat engagement ring. Despite Kate's rep denying the two were on the outs, a source told People the couple had "been on the rocks for some time."
"They're not in a great place," claimed the magazine's source, who also added that they "are still living together. Kate is not giving up."
One month later, the ring was back on and Kate and Matt appeared to be as solid.
In the October issue of Women's Health, the actress opened up about how their three-year engagement didn't bother her.
"We're working, it's a long engagement. I think the best part is that knowing you're working towards the idea of a commitment that is hopefully as long of a stretch as you can pull it — and forever seems beautiful," Hudson explained.
"My parents aren't married," she said of mom Goldie Hawn and her longtime love, Kurt Russell. "And one of the reasons why they never got married is because they had been married before and they liked it the way it was. They didn't feel like they needed a piece of paper to be committed. So for me, I know that marriage is not a golden ticket."
Kate and Matt's last red carpet appearance was at Goldie Hawn's inaugural Love In For Kids benefit in L.A. on Nov. 21.
Hudson was previously married to Chris Robinson. The couple, who has a 10-year-old son named Ryder, split in November 2006 after nearly six years of marriage.
