Justin Timberlake Debuts ‘Suit & Tie’ Video: It’s Old Hollywood … But Features an iPad

Justin Timberlake celebrated Valentine’s Day on Thursday by debuting the music video for his sexy comeback single “Suit & Tie.”

Although the black-and-white mini-movie has an Old Hollywood feel with showgirls, vintage microphones, and a chandelier-lit nightclub that would be the perfect stage for the Rat Pack (a similar vibe to his performance of the song at the Grammys last Sunday), we can’t help but notice a very non-20th-century prop: an iPad!

The video, which was directed by “The Social Network’s” David Fincher, starts out with JT and Hov chilling before their big performance: as the rapper watches a basketball game on the tube (we can only assume it’s the Brooklyn Nets), while Timberlake eats, well, a bowl of cereal. In another scene, he’s shown backstage playing a game of chess with a showgirl.

A Tom Ford-clad Timberlake then slides onto the stage, singing and dancing a choreographed number with his backup dancers and backing band – also in their suits and ties – until Hov “gets out his seat” for his rap sequence.

Later, the 32-year-old is back in a recording studio and is seen reading sheet music off … his iPad. The Apple gadget only gets three seconds of screen time, but it’s nevertheless a bit of a jarring juxtaposition.

“Suit & Tie” is the first single off JT’s highly-anticipated The 20/20 Experience, which will be released on March 15.

What do you think of the video? Are you looking forward to the new album?
