Jessica Simpson's baby shower was just so … Jessica!
Earlier this week we shared a peek into the 32-year-old's Tom Sawyer-themed baby shower, which took place Sunday in the world-renowned gardens at the Hotel Bel-Air in Beverly Hills. Now the quirky star -- and her party planner -- have spoken about the elaborate to-do and revealed an unusual shower favor.
In a behind-the-scenes video from the party which appears on People.com, event guru Mindy Weiss showed some of the highlights from the elaborate affair before the party started. Weiss explained that before guests headed home after the event, they were supposed to stop by the fishing booth to reel out party favors. Among the gift items were nail polish, lipgloss, and … contraceptives.
Yep, one of the gifts given to attendees were condoms because, as Weiss noted, "This baby was a surprise for Jessica and Eric."
Otherwise, the event seemed fairly traditional — though with a budget that afforded things like a banjo player, vintage furniture for the guests to get cozy on, and more plant arrangements than your local flower shop.

Perhaps he'll also inherit some of mom's quirkiness …
