It's Jennifer Garner's first time — being the face of a fashion brand, that is.
The actress and mother-of-three has signed on to appear in the new ad campaign for Max Mara. This also marks the first time the iconic brand has ever used a celebrity spokesperson, making the whole shebang somewhat of a super-pretty test drive for both the star and the label.
Specifically, Max Mara is looking to grow its position in the lucrative handbag category and has tapped Garner for its new JBag campaign. (While there are a multitude of reasons the brand picked Jennifer, the fact that her name starts with the letter J is a nice bonus.)
Max Mara's chairman, Luigi Maramotti told WWD, "Jennifer Garner is a real woman, not a cover girl, not a starlet, and she has different interests, a family and values. She is a real woman and embodies the Max Mara woman, she perfectly reflects our image."
It's also worth noting that Mrs. Ben Affleck seems to be a genuine fan of the label, having been photographed two years ago chillin' with her better half in one of the exact same coats she models in the campaign. Seriously, how often does that happen?
For her part, Jennifer described her personal style as "pragmatic," which makes sense, because this girl has a lot going on. "I like to wear garments that have a real, luxurious texture and feel good against the skin," she explained.
Of course, Jennifer's a big fan of the JBag too.
"I like the size of the JBag," she quipped. "I like that it's big enough to carry anything you want to stuff in there, but it's small enough that you won't lose your keys!"
Her campaign, which consists of a series of five images, will run in fall 2013 and spring 2014. Based on what we've seen so far, this marriage between fashion and fame seems to be the perfect fit.
