“Every revolution begins with a spark” … and so does every romance.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" star Sam Claflin is officially off the market after recently marrying his longtime love, "Da Vinci's Demons" actress Laura Haddock.
The British lovebirds, who became engaged in 2011, kept the news of their wedding under wraps ... until a photo snapped by a friend hit the Internet this week. The snapshot showed Claflin and Haddock, both 27, slicing into their deconstructed wedding cake, a towering concoction decorated with flowers.
While Claflin wore a suit for the big day (by cake time, his tie was loose), from what we could see of Haddock's dress, it was stunning. The high-necked gown featured lace on the top, revealing some of her back, a full skirt with many of layers and embroidery, and a belted waist. She also wore a headpiece.
A rep for the couple has not yet responded to omg!'s request for comment about the wedding, which is thought to have taken place in July.
The couple met at an audition and Claflin, a self-described romantic, said he knew right away she was the "the one." "She’s my female counterpart is the best way to describe her," he told Cover Media last year. "She reminds me of my mum so much which I think — a guy will know [is] important. Your mum knows everything."
Haddock has spoken about her now-husband's sex symbol status, which started when he appeared opposite Johnny Depp in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and will grow when he brings Finnick Odair to life in "Catching Fire" this November. (The character is known for being extremely handsome with many female admirers.)
"Sam being a pin-up is funny," Haddock told Empire magazine earlier this year. "Well, he is very sexy. But he's really not very serious. You know, he looks gorgeous in ['Catching Fire']. But if you said that to him, he'd say, 'What? Me?'"
