You don't see rainbows every day, but on Wednesday Holly Madison shared one with the world when she debuted her newborn daughter. The baby made headlines just days after she was born – for being named, yes, Rainbow.
The former Playboy Playmate revealed photos of her 2-week-old bundle of joy in this week's issue of In Touch Weekly, where she sounds as jolly as ever. "Just holding her is so much fun," Madison tells the mag. “Even the delivery was easy — I was actually laughing as I was pushing!”
The 33-year-old delivered the 7-pound, 2-ounce baby on March 5. Rainbow's father is Madison's boyfriend, Las Vegas party promoter Pasquale Rotella, and she says the couple is loving every moment of new parenthood. "Like all babies, she has her moments. But I'm so in awe of her that I even think her screams are cute!"
As for the unusual name, the one-time "Girls Next Door" star has said that a former classmate was named Rainbow and that she had always been envious of the cool moniker.
Since announcing the name, however, she's gotten plenty of criticism on the couple's choice, including flak from some bloggers who have called it a "stripper name." Madison responded to the critics last Monday: "There are a lot of smug haters out there who bag on my choice of a name, but I don't care about what they think," she wrote on her website. "I want my daughter to be proud of who she is and learn to speak up and stand up for herself at a young age. I spent most of my life being a people-pleaser who worried about what other people thought or thought was cool and I don't want that for her."
In the In Touch interview, Madison also talks about the possibility of Rainbow getting a hard time about her name later in life, insisting: "If getting teased about her name is the worst thing that's going to happen to her, bring it on."
