Remember that gold dress with the plunging neckline that Heidi Klum wore to the Oscars parties this year? Honestly, how could you forget it?!
The chevron striped, beaded gown with cleavage down to there by Julien Macdonald had eyes bulging and tongues wagging, wondering when photos of a wardrobe malfunction would emerge for days to follow. But that drama didn't happen, and, from the sounds of it, that's thanks to the new "America's Got Talent" judge's own handiwork.
"I loved this designer and I loved this dress because it was very form-fitting," Klum told E! News, confessing that she stitched up some of that neckline " "about three, four inches" before heading to the awards show.
"To be honest, the slit was, like, all the way down to my belly button," she said, gesturing. "I actually closed it a lot! I was kind of worried that, if I would have left it like this, that, you know, an accident might have happened."
Ever the "Project Runway" host, the supermodel admitted to being concerned about the designers feelings about her alterations.
"I don't know if the designer was happy about that, but it was a little too open," she said.
While accidents may have been avoided, that didn't stop the showstopper from being involved in a little post-Oscars drama. On E!'s "Fashion Police," host Joan Rivers declared, "The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into the ovens."
Needless to say, that stirred the pot a bit, but Rivers refused to apologize for the quip, telling "omg! Insider, "Heidi didn't mind it." She went on to explain, "I make points with humor and you want to talk about the Holocaust? That's how I talk about the Holocaust. I remind people there was a Holocaust and someone should wake Mel Gibson up to watch ‘Fashion Police.’”
