"Happy Endings" star Elisha Cuthbert has officially scored ... a husband, that is.
On Saturday, July 6, the blond bombshell married fellow Canadian and captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team, Dion Phaneuf, in Canada.
The ceremony took place at St. James Catholic Church in Summerfield, Prince Edward Island. While several of Dion's teammates came by bus, the bride arrived in style, chauffeured to the church in a black Chevrolet Camaro convertible.
Clad in a long-sleeved, white gown with lace details and a beaded belt, the actress exchanged vows with her longtime love in front of family members and friends. Rev. Paul Egan led the traditional Catholic ceremony for the two stars, who did not write their own vows.
According to Toronto Star reporter Rosie DiManno, who live-tweeted from inside, the church was decorated inside with maple leaves, and the program featured (what we assume is) a drawing of a maple tree. Cuthbert's bridesmaids reportedly donned pink fishtail dresses.
Cuthbert and Phaneuf looked ready to celebrate as they exited the church holding hands, and a reception (for over 300 guests!) took place at the groom's expansive waterfront estate nearby.
The party location isn't a surprising choice, as the celebrity couple has enjoyed this retreat for years. "It's such a quiet place that we can be ourselves and not get bothered too much and have a real summer away from the hustle and bustle of our lives," Cuthbert explained to the National Post back in 2008 (when her relationship with Phaneuf was still pretty new).
While few details of the reception have been confirmed (no live-tweeting from that part), an insider previously revealed that it would be a rather elegant affair complete with fireworks during dinner and food trucks at midnight, courtesy of the in-laws.
Fireworks and food trucks or not, it seems like this was one wonderful wedding.
