Despite the bad press surrounding her arrest on Friday, it was business as usual for Reese Witherspoon on Sunday night in New York City, where she still attended the premiere of her film "Mud," co-starring Matthew McConaughey.
Although Witherspoon didn't speak to press, she did walk the red carpet, arriving alone and posing for pictures. "Omg! Insider" reports that McConaughey refused to comment and the news caught Sarah Paulson and director Jeff Nichols by surprise.
A source tells omg! that Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth skipped the film's after party last night. However, "they were in good spirits all things considered," at the screening presented by Fiji," the source adds.
"Jim hung back and let Reese do her thing. He mingled with Matthew and Camila while Reese took pictures and greeted guests. Everyone was surprised she came," the source added. "But Reese is a professional and is proud of this film. She was her usual charming self while mingling with guests. She really wanted to be there to support everyone."
Witherspoon, Toth, McConaughey, and his wife Camila Alves all left together after they did intros for the film. (They did not stick around to watch the movie.) "They were all laughing and smiling when they left together," adds an onlooker.
McConaughey and Alves did attend the afterparty, even though Witherspoon and Toth did not.
