Deryck Whibley isn't done rockin' yet.

The Sum 41 frontman gave fans a scare earlier this month when he shared photos from a month-long stay in the hospital for what he described on his blog as too much "hard boozing." He checked in on his blog over the weekend to reassure them that he is doing better.

"I just wanted to thank you all so much for sending gifts and all of the compassion and support you have shown me," the 34-year-old wrote. "It really means a lot to me in this time of recovery. I will be better soon and back out on stage before you know it."

Whibley posted an accompanying photo that showed him free of the IVs and needles from his hospital photos, yet still looking markedly thinner than usual. He explained the medical problems that led to his shocking weight loss in the heartbreakingly vulnerable first post.

"My liver and kidneys collapsed on me," Whibley shared. "Needless to say it scared me straight. I finally realized I can't drink anymore. If I have one drink the docs say I will die."

Whibley's ex-wife, Avril Lavigne, sent her best wishes to him by phone and over Twitter. "Spoke to @Sum41 Deryck today," Lavigne wrote. "I am so proud of him. He is family to me and always will be. #StayStrongDeryck."
