Retirement certainly agrees with David Beckham!
The 38-year-old, who hung up his soccer cleats in May after a 20-year career, doesn't look like the average retiree in a new ad for his fragrance, Classic. The father of four's body is as toned as ever ― and we say this with authority because we paused the clip on the ab shot to really analyze and assess every muscle. It's tough work, but someone's gotta do it.
Of course, he does other things in the 40-second spot, but, frankly, he had us at the abs.
While he is a man of few words in the commercial ― five to be exact ― the sports legend also did an amusing interview in which he asks himself questions. For example, "Do you consider yourself good-looking?" His answer? "No, not really, but I like to think I’ve got my own distinct look, which reflects who I am as a person and the way I evolve as a man. "
Becks also talks to himself about the mutual appreciation that he and his wife, Victoria, share for clothes, and said the Spice Girl turned fashion designer "directed me in the right way" in terms of his personal style.
"When she tells me something doesn’t look good, I believe her," he said. "We have a connection that way."
Now living back in the U.K. with his family, Beckham's post-soccer plans include a British TV show, "Game Changers," aimed at getting children into sports. It premieres in August.
But you can watch his Classic ad now ... and we totally won't judge you if you hit replay a few times. We did.
