A purist would say the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is an eclectic lineup of live music and free spirits.

But thanks to its geographic proximity to Hollywood, and its liberal embracing of a more artistic dress code, it has become a premiere excuse to party and flood social media feeds with sightings and selfies.

From Vanessa Hudgens to Kate Bosworth, and Lindsay Lohan to Rihanna, you can hardly swing a feathered headdress without knocking over a bold name Following is omg!’s guide to what to expect from your favorite celebs as they flock to the desert for the festival.

The Ice Breaker. The aforementioned style component is a serious game at Coachella these days. Festival fashion is as watched as the superstar musicians that headline the main stage.

To accommodate the sartorial set, Harper's Bazaar will offer "ShopBazaar," a pop-up at the fabulous Parker Palms Springs hotel. Kicking off on Friday, an afternoon cocktail bash will see the mag's editors welcome the likes of Eli Roth, Sophia Bush and Jessica Lowndes. DJ Mia Moretti will ease folks into the weekend.

On The Hush. Every festival has its surprise guests, and Details magazine is keeping theirs on lockdown. As part of their "Details @ Midnight" concert series, a surprise performer will light up a luxurious private residence. Rapper Nas will host the invite-only crowd, who will sip Hennessy VS cocktails. Expect: Darren Criss, Alessandra Ambrosia, Stacy Keibler, Rodrigo Santoro, Josh Henderson, Ashley Benson and designer Jason Wu.

Float on. Lacoste Live returns with their staple daytime party kicking off Saturday, with social lubrication provided by Patron, plenty of crocodile pool floats and a mani-pedi station for those festival-beaten feet. Chris Pine, AnnaSophia Robb, Chord Overstreet and Elijah Wood are scheduled to pop by.

Off The Rack. Retailer H&M makes an aggressive (and awesome) expansion into the Coachella culture by renting out the gorgeous Merv Griffin estate for a Saturday bash. Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, "Mad Men" beauty Jessica Pare and Justin Chatwin will be treated to a performance from Santigold, the lush views and even a bocce ball court.

Star Attraction. The Armani Exchange Neon Carnival is unequivocally the star of the celeb Coachella party circuit -- combining the electric fashion of A|X, the playfulness of classic carnival shtick and a laundry list of celebs who come to enjoy. Rihanna, Usher, anyone who has played (or will play) a teen vampire have loyally attended in the past, and will no doubt be back. Built out on desert land, a towering ferris wheel and sea of neon lights, accessories and prizes will pepper the night sky come Saturday, early into Sunday a.m.

Boom Service. The Saguaro Hotel will play host to a roster of weekend events, including a DJ set from artist Sky Ferreira, where Forever 21 and Swatch will host bathing beauties all weekend long.

All Charge. Night Vision Entertainment and Chevrolet will host VoltValley at The Mirage, a fully programmed oasis very close to the fairgrounds that will feature a boozy brunch courtesy Bagatelle and welcome stars like David Arquette, Eric Balfour and Lucy Hale. Expect floating Chevy Volts on a lake!

And those are just some of the events. In Palm Springs, GUESS will take over the Viceroy (the brand is also doing a huge Saturday night party, GUESS After Dark, this year in Indio, to challenge Neon Carnival) and Hard Rock Hotel will take over Hotel Zoso. Adidas leads a weekend full of events at the Ace Hotel. SBE’s Greystone Manor and Hyde/XIV sets up shop at the Renaissance Esmeralda in Indian Wells. The new McDonald's Premium McWrap will celebrate its arrival at the Bootsy Bellows estate, where Carmen Electra will perform. And this doesn't even account for the un-official after-parties!
