Attention thieves: Don't mess with the Jolie-Pitts!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's eldest son, Maddox, was enjoying a fun-filled afternoon at the Hollywood Sports Paintball Park in Bellflower, California, over the weekend when things took a not-so-fun turn. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department was called to the scene after a man allegedly tried to steal from a Jolie-Pitt SUV parked outside.
Maddox, outfitted in some serious camouflage, was in the care of a bodyguard for the July 20 outing. While the 11-year-old was in the 23-acre outdoor paintball theme park showing off his gun skills (perhaps picked up from that promised screening of his parents in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"?), a man dressed in blue jeans and a matching shirt was witnessed entering the unlocked black SUV, which was driven by the bodyguard, at about 12:45 p.m., a spokesperson for the LASD confirmed to omg!. The gloved man removed two iPads from the vehicle, one of which was labeled "family."
But the suspect didn't get far! A do-gooder paparazzo, who was on the Jolie-Pitt beat, witnessed the theft and contacted the Sheriff's Department. Deputies quickly arrived on the scene and apprehended the robber before he could take off with the stolen goods.
Of course, with the 'razzi involved, much of the drama was captured on camera — including a photo of the alleged thief with an iPad in hand. That's probably not great news for the defense team, we suspect!
And there was a happy ending for the six adorable Jolie-Pitt kids, whose iPad was recovered: They can now play Angry Birds, PewPew, and Flockwock until their little fingers get numb.
