Alexander Skarsgård has a great sense of humor — and tolerance for extremely cold temperatures.
The chiseled 6-foot-4 Swedish actor, 37, showed incredible endurance during the Walking With the Wounded Challenge last month, which saw him trudging across Antarctica for nearly 210 miles to the South Pole with a group including Prince Harry. But we didn't realize that when he completed the three-week hike on Dec. 13, he then stripped to recreate a memorable "True Blood" nude scene.
Inge Solheim, who guided the actor on the trek, posted an Instagram pic of the naked TV star on Tuesday. In the shot, Skarsgård was on a commode reading a book.
"#southpole -30C What are you reading Alex? The script for season 7 of #truebloodHBO ? :-) #alexanderskarsgard," Solheim captioned the photo.
So what was the inspiration for the stark-naked snap? Skarsgård's now infamous scene from the Season 6 finale of "True Blood" in August. In that episode, his bad-boy vampire Eric Northman took it all off, laying nude on a chaise lounge chair while reading.
Of course, the TV scene was a lot more racy, as fans of the show will tell you. He then stood up, providing viewers with a full frontal shot, before — spoiler alert! — bursting into flames.
Needless to say, Skarsgård is clearly comfortable with his body and loves being in the buff. And when he does love scenes, he goes for it.
"I don't want a sock around it, that feels ridiculous," he told Rolling Stone. "If we're naked in the scene, then I'm naked. I've always been that way."
He also memorably quipped, "I'm from Sweden. We don't wear clothes in Sweden."
Apparently, he doesn't wear clothes on the South Pole either.
