Whether she was trying to or not, Ashley Greene certainly figured out a way to steal some of the limelight away from her scandal-plagued "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart. All she had to do was wear this dress.
The 25-year-old star made a grand entrance at the Hollywood premiere of "The Apparition" at Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Thursday night. She went bold with color, wearing a fuchsia Donna Karan Atelier gown that featured a sweetheart neckline, draped layers of fabric, and an upper thigh—high slit that must make all those recent trips to the gym definitely feel worth it. Though her lips matched the dress, her shoes did not. The actress opted for nude platform, peep-toe Jimmy Choo heels — kind of like a sexier version of those LK Bennett shoes Kate Middleton lives in.
Not sure about you, but "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" vixen Jessica Rabbit immediately came to mind when we saw Greene's red-carpet look. We half expected to read that the premiere party took place at the Ink and Paint Club with Greene singing a few numbers and cooing, "Roger, darling!"
Alas, there was no singing at this soiree — only screaming. In "The Apparition," which opens today, the actress is paired up with "Once Upon a Time" star Sebastian Stan. The two play a young couple who discover that their house is haunted (cue the creepy music), so they call in a supernatural consultant. Yahoo! Movies calls "The Apparition," which is now in theaters, a "good ole jump-out-of-your-seat horror flick in the vein of 'Poltergeist' and 'Paranormal Activity.'"
In November, the fifth and final "Twilight" film — "Breaking Dawn: Part 2" — will hit theaters. No doubt it will be a drama-filled promotional tour for Greene and the rest of the cast as her co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson's real-life drama plays out following Stewart's cheating scandal last month. Greene, who has been dating Broadway star Reeve Carney of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" fame, recently said she's still adjusting to all the media attention she's received since "Twilight" made her famous.
Calling it "a little creepy sometimes," Greene told CNN, "Being bitter about it is not going to make it go away, so it is what it is. The one positive out of it is I'm glad that the fans care enough and that they want to see pictures and they want to know what's going on and they want to go see films I'm promoting. That's the positive."
The downside? Well, that would be photographed going to gym almost daily."It does get a little exhausting sometimes, trying to go out without being photographed all the time," Greene, who recently posed in her underwear for Esquire, told the news site. "Even my mom is like, 'Oh my God, if I see you leave the gym one more time!' She's like, 'We get it! You go to the gym!'"
Well, those sweat sessions are clearly paying off because she looks fabulous in that gown — and we'd venture to guess Jessica Rabbit would agree.
