Bill Murray Serenades 94-year-old Woman on Her Birthday
Bill Murray just melted our hearts. The actor was recently in Waco, Texas for a college basketball game and surprised a 94-year-old woman with the sweetest birthday song.
Maryellen Hook Wible celebrated her birthday by going to her first Baylor basketball game — and she was in for a treat. The birthday gal sat courtside with her grandson Noah as they cheered on their local team, and right before they left, Bill Murray serenaded her.
Noah said of the actor, “He genuinely wanted to make my grandmother feel special. He is a class act.”
About this time last year, Wible lost her husband of 73 years. Noah admitted his grandma has been feeling lonely lately, so he was excited by the special treatment from the actor.
The comedian was at the game because his son Luke is an assistant coach at Xavier University, which was playing Baylor that night.
