Bill Cosby and his wife, Camille, may have been rattled but they are far from broken.

Despite all the allegations against The Cosby Show patriarch — at this point he’s been accused of sexual assault, molestation, or harassment by more than 50 women — the couple, who have been married since 1964, looked as close as ever when a photographer captured a rare picture of them outside their NYC townhouse on Sunday. It may be the first time they have been photographed together in a year.

Despite the massive scandal, the disgraced comedian, 78, made no effort to hide as he made his way to their waiting car, wearing one of his signature hoodie sweatshirts emblazened with the words “Hello Friend,” the name of the charity started in honor of his deceased son, Ennis, in large letters across the front. Camille, 71, had her arm linked through Bill’s, but it’s unclear who was supporting who.

This is the first time Cosby has been photographed since May, when he joined the Black Belt Community Foundation’s March for Education in Selma, Ala. That was two weeks after his his controversial comedy tour ended, during which he was heckled and picketed. Since then, 35 of the alleged victims banded together to tell their stories about being assaulted for New York magazine’s cover story in July. In October, 27 of the women detailed the comedian’s inappropriate sexual behavior on Dateline.

The Cosbys were likely in the Big Apple for Bill’s deposition in the defamation lawsuit filed by model Janice Dickinson, who claims Cosby drugged and assaulted her. However, a California appeals court temporarily halted the order requiring him to give testimony.

Photos showed that when Bill and Camille left their townhouse, they were taken to the airport and flown back to western Massachusetts, where they have a 21-acre estate in the town of Shelburne Falls.

If they are devastated by Bill’s fall from grace, they didn’t look that way when they were deplaning. They were smiling — especially Camille — as they walked to their ride, which was waiting on the tarmac.

In August, an Associated Press reporter visited Shelburne Falls to do a story about the Cosby’s low-key life there and noted that the “low-slung gates all around the estate bore a stern warning: ‘If You Are Not Invited, DO NOT Pass Through These Gates,’” a not-so-subtle reminder of the saga playing out outside of their gates.

Bill and Camille were last photographed together in November 2014, when they did press for the Smithsonian Institution after donating some of their art to the museum. As the scandal unfolded, Camille, who has five children with Bill, spoke out on her husband’s behalf, defending him fiercely and calling him the “victim.” In July, family sources told the New York Post that she doesn’t believe that Bill provided drugs and had sex with women without their consent.

In other words, she’s standing by her man — in the press and in these new photos.
