Whether you love or hate (or love to hate) Azealia Banks, the rapper is ending the year on an undoubtedly sorrowful note. “So I’ve just had a really major life event happen and I want to talk about it because this wouldn’t be an Azealia Banks page without loads of oversharing right?” the “212” rapper reportedly began in a since-deleted post. “Anywho, I’ve just had a miscarriage and am pretty taken aback by it all.” She went on to admit that she was feeling not only “confused and in shock,” but also “guilty and a bit depressed and like a failure and very ashamed.”

It seemed that the 25-year-old star was turning to fans for support, as she asked them to share words of wisdom regarding this experience to help her heal. “The self-loathing bit is a real struggle for me at the moment so share any words here,” she continued. “They will be greatly appreciated.”

While many commenters were supportive, others had mixed reactions to the “Broke With Expensive Taste” singer’s post. When one fan suggested Banks should have taken more “time to reflect” on the miscarriage in private before blasting it over social media, the rapper shot bank, “It’s life and we all live it together. Everyone farts, s***s, f***s , eats and sleeps. It’s bodily function 101. Why the need for secrecy.” As the hours ticked by, Banks continued to post responses to fans whose commentary she didn’t appreciate, as well as rants about everything, ranging from her trip to the ER to her promise to fart in a jar and put it in a freezer.

“I’ve had a real rough 2016,” the musician later added. Indeed, she did. From accusing Russell Crowe of assaulting her (though other party guests insisted she was shouting racial obscenities and threatening guests before he asked her to leave), to having a Twitter feud with Iggy Azalea, to having a separate Twitter feud with Disney star Skai Jackson (who is 14 years old, btw), to going on a racist rant against Zayn Malik, to posting a 21-minute-long video tirade defending her use of a skin bleaching product, it’s been quite the year for the controversial star. Though it seems that in her opinion she has been an innocent bystander.

“I honestly need a break from the public crucifixions,” she said as a follow-up to her Facebook post about her miscarriage. “This is a women’s health issue that many others may or may not be able to relate to. Please don’t f*** UP an opportunity for clear, open and beneficial discourse between WOMEN!” Finally, she declared she felt “calm and sleepy” and apparently headed to bed. She didn’t actually go to bed just then, though, because she later added, “Trolls are coming in,” noting “Delete. Delete.”

But Banks is clearly still reveling in the attention, as she later cited her Twitter feud adversaries’ relevance in reference to herself: “I’m still the deciding factor babes LOL. I’m still what makes any of it interesting. …”

We’ll have to wait and see if 2017 will bring more of the same from the rapper.
