Ariana Grande may be performing her newest single “Side to Side” at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday, but before that she appears to be hanging side by side in New York City with Mac Miller.

The 23-year-old “Into You” singer and the 24-year-old rapper were spotted leaving a Big Apple night club on Friday night – Grande dressed in an oversized black concert t-shirt and matching hoodie with black ankle boots.

Earlier in the day, the two played with other friends at New York’s Museum of Ice Cream, where she partied in its pool of sprinkles and rode an ice cream scoop swing.

Grande shared the group’s shenanigans on Snapchat, giggling as she heard her voice change after eating the museum’s helium-filled edible sugar balloons.

Miller can be seen with friends as they watch the museum’s worker create the sweet, silly treat.

On Thursday, Grande and Miller also swung by to see famed tattoo artist Dr. Woo, where each got some new ink.

Visiting Shamrock Social Club, Grande got the letter “A” on her thumb and the Venus symbol on another finger.

I think this is my 13th

Miller added a tattoo of the horizon on his hand to his already extensive body art collection.

The god @_dr_woo_ blessed me.

The pair began as friends when they collaborated on her 2013 single “The Way” – even smooching in its video.

Speaking of collaborators, Nicki Minaj is featured on Grande’s “Side to Side” and will join her for her performance at Sunday’s show.

They previously opened the 2014 MTV VMAs together alongside Jessie J in a “Break Free,” “Anaconda,” “Bang Bang” medley.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards air live on Sunday, with a pre-show beginning at 8 p.m. ET and the big show airing at 9 p.m. ET.
