'Harry Potter' Fans Warned Off Train Tracks
British police have issued a warning to remind Harry Potter fans that a) train tracks are dangerous, and b) the Hogwarts Express is not a real thing. Page Six reports that an increasing number of people have been walking along an active railway line in the Scottish Highlands, which was used as a location in the Harry Potter series.
The Hogwarts Express is seen crossing through the Glenfinnan Viaduct in most of the Potter movies, transporting students from King's Cross in London to the remote highland locale of Hogwarts. According to police sergeant Kevin Lawrence, many magically-inclined tourists take an actual steam train across the viaduct, and then walk back along the tracks to take photographs.
"I would like to remind everyone that we are mere Muggles," Lawrence said, delightfully. "If you trespass on the railway and are struck by a train, the consequences could be extremely serious and probably fatal.” Stick to the steam train, TBH.
