Andi Dorfman Opens Up About Split From Ex-Fiancé Josh Murray
Andi Dorfman and Josh Murray’s relationship began like a fairy tale. When the former baseball pro got down on one knee during the Season 10 finale of The Bachelorette, Andi could not have looked happier. But eight months after their magical proposal aired on national television, the reality couple called it quits. Now the former Bachelorette is opening up about what went wrong in her new book, It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After, and telling The Insider With Yahoo how it felt to give the ring back.
“I thought it was going to be really hard. I loved it,” she explained. But much to her surprise, she says it ended up being “one of the easiest things [she] did during the breakup.” For Andi, returning this “last tangible piece of evidence from [the] relationship” was “freeing.”
The 29-year-old went on to detail the emotional abuse she says she suffered during her relationship with Josh. While Andi admits she did sleep with him after their split — something she says helped her regain control and “let go of the relationship” — their communication has since ceased. “How many people really need to keep a friendship with their exes?” Andi quipped. Today, the Atlanta native says she is “still happily single” and is enjoying dating in New York City.
