9 Times Justin Bieber Made Us Sigh While Discussing His Passion for Fashion

We love Justin Bieber — and we mean love in the sense that we are head over heels for the silly things he says.

That’s why we gleefully read something like the singer/Calvin Klein undies wearer’s interview about fashion with industry bible WWD. Conducted in Hong Kong, where the “Baby” singer headlined an event for the label, the 21-year-old talked about how he’s growing up (so he keeps saying), transitioning beyond music (because the world needs more Bieber), and is now being embraced by the fashion industry (say what?!). There are many gems in the interview, so we’ve compiled our faves…

1. The Biebs rode into the interview, which was conducted in a hotel suite at the five-star Landmark Mandarin Oriental, on an IO Hawk. ‘Cause nothing screams “I’m a grown-up” more than arriving to conduct business on a motorized scooter.

2. He was “smacking on blue gum” throughout the interview.

3. The guy, whose love of drop-crotch pants outlasted his affection for Selena Gomez, boasted about now being “recognized by the fashion world,” thanks to the Calvin Klein gig. By the way, that makes him feel “awesome.”

4. He told the interviewer that he plans to put out a fashion line, but he wants to do it right because he knows “it’s not easy. It’s not like putting out an album.” (Because putting out a hit album is easy.)

5. The interviewer said that while looking at digital images of himself taken during a photo shoot, Bieber “needles members of his entourage,” asking, about himself, “Is he a model or is he a singer?”

6. Seeing as he’s now a fashion world fave, how would Bieber describe his personal style? Well, he’s “really into, like, drapy things, drapy sweaters.” Like, sounds cool.

7. He told the writer that his Calvin Klein ads are a “transitioning tool” from singing to the fashion world. If that didn’t come right out of his brand manager’s mouth, then we don’t know where it came from.

8. The article noted that Bieber is such great friends with Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing, who outfitted the singer with a jacket for the Met Gala, that he hears from him on an “almost weekly basis.” Wow, they sound inseparable.

9. And please know that he’s not intimated by any stinking movie stars. Talking about filming a bit for Zoolander 2, he bragged, “I didn’t expect Ben [Stiller] to be so hands on… It was really cool to have him direct me in such a nonthreatening way. I wasn’t intimated at all.”

Actually, we don’t think that Bieber is intimated by anything or anyone. But maybe he should be?
