Zoe Kravitz's Trendsetting Blond Bob
Zoe Kravitz ditched her signature dark, bohemian braids in favor of a curly, bleach blond crop. The 27-year-old actress and singer first started rocking natural hair and braids in September of 2014, and we weren’t expecting her to serve up a chin length, blond bob considering the significance of her braids.
“I originally did them as a joke, like an ode to the ’90s,” Kravitz said of her braids in the September 2015 issue of C Magazine. “They aren’t some symbolic thing, but it still feels important, I think, to be a brown girl with natural hair. You see blond girls with the same hair in every movie.”
Kravitz is no stranger to switching up her hair. In 2013, she debuted pastel purple locks, and the following year she wore a peroxide, chin-length bob with dark roots and microbangs a la Alexander Wang SS17.
Her new style embraces her natural texture, and Kravitz is definitely not “one of those blond girls with the same hair.” The style is uniquely hers, with contrast between her newly bright color and dark, face framing brows. She sticks to her usually minimal makeup look and lets her freckles show through to balance her bold color and enhance her natural beauty.
