Women generally visit the nail salon with certain ideas of what they want. However, in a now-viral twitter thread, women are sharing hilarious stories of their manicures that look nothing like what they asked for.

Twitter user @og_shawtty started the funny expectation versus reality thread by sharing a side-by-side comparison of the nail design she wanted and the final result. The candid and relatable images, which have gotten nearly 6,500 likes, prompted other women in the Twitterverse to share their cringeworthy manicures too.

Twitter user Karena Kirillova, who tweets as @envykarena, shared her manicure-gone-wrong experience. She tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she showed a photo pf the design she hoped for to a nail tech in Morrow, Ga. It was a half-hour before closing time, and she noticed he was rushing.

“He was very sloppy doing it, so he accidentally glued two of my fingers together. When he realized he glued them together, instead of putting acetone on them like a normal person, he started trying to rip them apart,” she said. “I yelled at him that it hurt.”

The 21-year-old adds, “When he finished it looked a hot ass mess.” She says that even though she didn’t like how her nails came out, she was hungry and it was late, so she paid and left. “When I got in my car I broke down crying, so I went home, got my own polish and painted over them so they at least looked decent,” she added.

Despite the horrible experiences shared, like Kirillova’s, not all hope is lost. Other women have been sharing manicure results that they are actually happy about.

Some have even shared the contact information of their amazing nail technicians, so others can book an appointment and be happily satisfied with their manicures too.

Here’s hoping these ladies find the right nail tech and get the flawless manicure every woman deserves.
