Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson is known for whipping stars — from Gwyneth Paltrow to Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio (and now Lena Dunham) — into enviable shape, but her life isn’t always so glamorous.

On Monday, the mom of two shared a candid throwback photo of herself on Instagram, which revealed the realities of motherhood. In the snap, Anderson is wearing dirty pajamas and is covered in breast milk, while holding her baby daughter Penelope (who is now 5 years old).

“At the end of the day who even needs breast pads as long as they are happy, healthy and full of love for themselves and others!” she wrote.

The honest image is in stark contrast to the polished photos she typically posts — and her 300,000 Instagram followers loved it, with the post garnering more than 12,000 likes. Several commented on what a “beautiful” photo it is and related to Anderson’s “raw,” “real life” share. “So true!” wrote Instagram user elizamapple. “Happy to see someone honest about early motherhood!”

For many followers, Anderson’s post brought back their own memories from when they were breastfeeding their newborns.

Instagram user josheik19 wrote: “I’m in tears because I so relate to this pic,” while eating_enchanted commented, “I love this so much Tracy! It brought me back to the early days with both of my kids. When it is all love and very little sleep. Thank you for being a woman who’s never afraid to be real!”
