At Sunday night’s Critics’ Choice Awards, celebrities embraced the dark lips and straight hair that’s standard in the darkness of December, but Tracee Ellis Ross certainly stood out from the crowd.

Ross’s show Blackish received two nominations, and she celebrated the evening with a light, fresh look to defy winter beauty expectations. Her skin was dewy and bright, and she accentuated her features with a swipe of graphic black liner, a matte, pastel pink lip, and soft brows.

She added flair to the look with pink chandelier earrings to frame her face and cornrows that varied in size. Araxi Lindsey, the head of hair for Blackish, hooked up Ross’s red carpet mane, and we love the edgy center braid that makes the star’s beauty look chic and true to her.
