This Really Works: A Scalp Scrub That Will Leave Hair Squeaky Clean

It hasn’t been easy for me to get behind the “no poo” movement because I love washing my hair. It’s how I wake up in the morning; it’s my cup of coffee. My regular shampoo schedule combined with my daily use of styling products (I’m on a constant quest to achieve effortless, French girl looking hair, which currently requires three different texturizers) means there is a lot of product build-up on my hair that my shampoo isn’t totally removing. And with all the talk of January detoxing (despite it now being February), I decided it was time to give my hair a break.

When Christophe Robin’s Cleansing Purifying Scrub came across my desk, I decided to give it a shot. I was intrigued not only by the ingredients, but also the hair promises listed on the jar—oh, and with Christophe Robin being French and all, I figured he has to know something about me getting the Parisian hair of my dreams.

The scrub is made with sea salt, which works as an exfoliator to help rebalance the scalp, which means it’s especially good for those with oily scalps and can also help to relieve itchiness post-coloring. Not only did it feel amazing on my head, but my hair has never felt cleaner—I’m talking squeaky clean. So clean, that my hair didn’t need to be washed again the next day. It wasn’t greasy, it wasn’t flat, it was the next day hair that everyone always talks about, and I was able to give my hair a much needed shampoo break. I’m convinced this is on every French girls bathroom shelf.
