Nasyrova is originally from Russia, but now lives in Latvia and her lengthy brunette strands just might be the longest in the country. When discussing her inspiration for growing out her hair, she told Barcroft, “I started to grow my hair because since childhood I liked long hair very much. And I was always attracted by long hair heroines from fairy tales.”
The 27-year-old’s long hair has been gaining lots of attention, and she now has over 15,000 followers on her Instagram account.
As heavy as her hair may be, Nasyrova has no plans on cutting it off anytime soon – or ever. Her hair weighs over four pounds, and she’s mentioned that the weight of it is comparable to that of her cat. It also requires a lot of maintenance and her combs, shampoos, conditioners and weigh more than 22 pounds. She routinely clips away any split ends about once a month.
While Nasyrova said, “I don’t have a dream to get in Guinness Record Book,” one would assume that if her hair keeps growing at the rate it does now, she may actually one day be able to claim that title.
Currently, the Guinness record for longest hair belongs to Xie Qiuping who’s based in China and has been growing her hair since 1973. Another real-life Rapunzel is Dashik Freckle who’s also from Russia like Nasyrova. Newsbeat reported that Freckle has no plans of cutting her hair either – at least until it maybe reaches her toes.
As the saying goes “long hair, don’t care!” These ladies are living that life.
