There’s a Better Way to Hydrate Your Skin

Well, hello, summer. Already feeling the heat on that first 80-degree day? Before you reach for the soap and water or a facial wipe, consider a more efficient breed of skincare: hydrating mists. “They only contain a small amount of water, so they don’t wash away natural oils,” explains says ColumbiaDoctors dermatologist Dr. Lindsey Bordone. The fine mixture of oils and extracts gives pre- or post-make-up looks a little glowy pick-me-up after a long, hot day. Bonus: Many contain ingredients like glycolic acid that plump up the skin.

When applying to the body, mist and then lightly blend. It’ll dry almost instantly. As for facial mists, they don’t even need to be rubbed in, and they offer a soothing effect—it actually cools the complexion—and serves as the perfect post-workout or 3 PM office pick-me-up.
