A Sydney man was shocked when he changed his Facebook profile photo to a picture of his Afghan hound and it went viral. The hound is Luke Kavanagh’s 5-year-old, recently retired, respected show dog named Tea.

The image, originally taken back in February, is of a black dog sitting on a bench, staring into the distance has garnered countless comments describing the animal’s beauty. Many have even named Tea the world’s prettiest dog.

“I guess people were mostly drawn to [the photo] because of her silky coat coupled with that dignified look that Tea has, but that’s just her being her,” Kavanagh told the Telegraph.

Tea recently ended her illustrious show career so Kavanagh could spend more time focusing on his family. “On show day she exemplifies Afghan hound, she is dignified, aloof and most certainly displays a keen fierceness. At home she is such a character and really loving her retirement,” he said. “Whether she’s naked or draped in the finest of silk gowns, Tea will always be my queen.”

He posted an update on his Facebook page detailing Tea’s impressive collection of awards, including nine Best in Show’s and “#1 Afghan Hound all systems at the time of her last show in 2016,” among many others.

Outside of her show career, the pooch also scored pet modeling contracts for dog food and shampoo brands.

Tea isn’t the only animal stealing people’s hearts on the Internet. Frederik the Great, a Friesian stallion, also recently reached Internet fame and stardom status. He was even featured on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The stallion has a Facebook fan page with over 50,000 followers.
