The Breakdown: Prom Smokey Eye
Sephora PRO makeup artist Eliza Davila reveals how to get the perfect smokey eye for prom. Moving away from a more traditional look, Davila is showing you how to add a pop of color to your smokey eye. Here’s how to do it:
1. Prep the skin by applying foundation, blush and a nude lip.
2. Use an eye primer to help shadow lay evenly on lids.
3. Shape the eyes by lining all the way around the eyes.
4. Apply your first shadow from the base to the center of the lid.
5. Use a smudge brush to soften the liner.
6. Apply a lighter shadow to the edge of lid.
7. To balance the look, use the same lighter color shadow on the bottom lash line.
8. Use a deeper shadow on the outside corner of the lids.
9. Add shimmer on nside corners to open up the eyes.
10. Curl lashes before applying false eyelashes.
11. Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes.
12. Use an applicator to place false lashes
