On the Spring 2016 Bridal Fashion Week runways this season, it wasn’t just those ring fingers that were sparkling. At many shows, the hair was positively twinkling, too! From pearls to rhinestones to silver spikes, we saw it all — and it was all gorgeous. Here, our favorite examples of big-day hair bling.

1. Intricate accessories
At the Marchesa show, the models’ sleek looped buns looked fairly simple — until they were topped off with elaborate bejeweled hair combs. Created by Erickson Beamon, the accessories served as a fresh, modern take on the traditional sparkly tiara.

2. Eye-catching crowns

Sure, the spiky silver crowns at the Naeem Khan show aren’t for everyone. (They gave us a definite Game of Thrones vibe, after all.) But for the bold bride? Well, there’s no cooler way to make a hair statement.

3. Embellished braids
To achieve the glittery, almost ice-princess-like braids at the Reem Acra show, hairstylist Joe DiMaggio wove shimmery beaded trim through braided hair extensions. (And yes, the models were all wearing extensions — they did not have waist-length hair!). To finish the look, he then applied tiny sparkly appliqués — using the heat of a curling iron to activate the adhesive — to back and sides of the models’ heads. (We even spied designer Reem Acra herself with a few sparkles in her hair!)

4. Natural accents
Calling all wood nymphs! Having an outdoor wedding? Then we’d suggest considering the cool, nature-inspired hair accessories that we saw tucked into the chignons at Lela Rose. The pearl-embellished twigs are just perfect for ethereal brides.
