THE AFTER-MIDNIGHT LOOK

BRIGHT FACTOR
“Mix a tiny bit of foundation with MAC Strobe Cream for a natural-looking glow. Massage the blend directly onto the skin with your fingers, then apply loose powder onto the chin, cheeks, and forehead so the face isn’t too shiny.”
— VIOLETTE, MAKEUP ARTIST

CHEEK SOPHISTICATE
“The skin looks most beautiful when there is a balance between glowy and matte finishes. I mixed MAC Cream Color Colour Base in Tint and Vintage Rose for a soft effect. Use your fingers to apply the creams to the high point of your cheekbones.”
— VIOLETTE, MAKEUP ARTIST

SUBTLE CONTOUR
“To give the eye some shape, take the taupe-toned pencil and draw directly into the contour of the eye socket. Dab the Laura Mercier Rosegold Caviar Stick into the corner of the eyes to bring light to the face.”
— VIOLETTE, MAKEUP ARTIST

FINISHING TOUCH
“Now, using a flat eyeshadow brush, blend the pigment out toward the brow bone rather than in toward the lash line. Follow with a brow pencil to create a boyish, full-brow look, which counterbalances the glamorous lip. Finish the eyes by applying NARS Audacious mascara to the top and bottom lashes.”
— VIOLETTE, MAKEUP ARTIST

LIPSTICK MIX
“I blended two Tom Ford lipsticks together to create a fuchsia that has depth and also brightness. Mix a very small amount of Tom Ford Lips & Boys in Jay, a deep violet shade, with Alex, a bold pink. Apply to the lips and then top it off with the Alex shade alone for that vibrancy.”

TOUSLED HAIR
“I first sprayed Rachel’s damp hair with Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray and finger-dried it to bring out her natural texture. Then I used a small curling iron from GHD on any sections that needed a little definition. I finished the whole look with Oribe Dry Texturizing spray.”
— BEN SKERVIN, HAIR STYLIST
