If “fitspiration” was added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Teyana Taylor would be high on my list of people whose photo I believe should be printed right next to the word.

The 26-year-old singer, actress, and model became “snapback” goals for many women when she flaunted her flat tummy just six days after giving birth to daughter Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr., aka Junie. Then Kanye West’s music video for “Fade” starring Taylor dropped at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, and she inspired everyone to get up the very next day and sweat it out at the gym.

The Harlem-born star has probably learned a thing or two about what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle from her husband and Cleveland Cavalier Iman Shumpert, but does she ever feel insecure? Her short answer: “All the time!”

While hosting the first-ever pop-up beauty bar by Kiss in New York City, Taylor opened up about not wanting to be friends with anyone who thinks they’re perfect 24/7 because she’s “steady complaining.”

She believes “it’s natural” to have insecurities and added, “I don’t think it’s anything to be ashamed about. It is what it is. The only thing that matters is deep down inside that you know that you’re beautiful.”

Watch the video above to find out where Taylor draws her confidence from and her No. 1 style rule.
