Guys have done some dangerous things in an effort to impress girls, and when it's in a movie, these little stunts can be extremely charming.
But let's not forget that IN REAL LIFE this is NOT CUTE and will not only totally freak out the girl but can also very possible harm or kill you.
Australian teen Lee De Paauw learned that the hard way late on Saturday after a night out with his friends in far north Queensland. They were walking by a known crocodile habitat when Lee jumped into the water in an attempt to impress 24-year-old British backpacker Sophie Peterson.
He told her that the crocs wouldn't eat Australians and that a backpacker was much more likely to get eaten. He was wrong. A crocodile immediately grabbed him by the arm and wouldn't let go until he gouged the croc in the eye. He managed to get out of the water while Sophie and her friends called an ambulance, but the situation did not look good.
"There was blood everywhere and he just wouldn't stop screaming,'' she told Courier Mail."I thought he had lost his arm because of how bad it looked."
He was taken to the local hospital, where he had surgery on his left arm and–luckily–got to keep it.
Not only did he almost lose his arm, he didn't even impress the girl.
In a follow-up interview with Courier Mail, Lee denied that he was, as people on social media were saying, "one of the stupidest people around," simply replying that "haters gotta hate."
On Monday, he also told Nova FM's Fitzy and Wippa that he got Sophie's number and that she agreed to go on a date with him.
But later on in the show, Sophie said that there was no chemistry between them and that he was "too young" for her.
"Being attacked by animals doesn't really do it for me."
