Social Media Has Plenty to Say About Donald Trump's Cinco de Mayo Post: 'Can the Taco Bowl be President Instead?'

Donald Trump chose to commemorate Cinco de Mayo on Thursday with a photo of himself posing with a taco bowl.

“Happy Cinco de Mayo! The best taco bowls are made in Trump Tower Grill. I love Hispanics!” he captioned the thumbs up picture.

Christopher Devine, executive chef and general manager of Trump Tower Grill, told PEOPLE requests for the $13.50 taco bowl went through the roof after Trump posted the photo. The bowl is usually only on menus on Saturdays, but it was available today for Cinco de Mayo.

While the holiday-themed food special was popular among Trump Tower visitors, social media erupted with witty responses for the presumptive GOP nominee.

Thousands of Facebook users were particularly fond of Andrea Mucino’s comment. “Too bad a taco bowl isn’t mexican, the Trump Tower Grill isn’t either, you’re not eating taco bowls from New York because you’re in WV today, CInco De Mayo isn’t a hispanic holiday it’s a mexican one, and you are the same color as the taco bowl shell. But I digress!” she wrote in the comment section of Trump’s post.

Another comment that has garnered over 30,000 likes. “Can the taco bowl be president instead of Trump?” Kelynne Reed said in her response.

The taco bowl photo comes a day after the billionaire businessman gave an interview to NBC News’ Lester Holt on Wednesday.

“They’re going to be deported,” Trump said in response to his promise to deport America’s undocumented immigrants. “Look, we either have a country or we don’t. We have many illegals in the country and we have to get them out and go through a process, go through a system and ones who have done well and have really achieved we want to bring them back in.“

In his first television ad of his campaign, Trump made a vow to ban Muslim immigration into the U.S. and build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Also in June 2015, Trump defended his controversial comments regarding Mexican immigration to PEOPLE. “I love the Mexican people and have great respect for Mexico,” he said. “But Mexico has totally taken advantage of the United States, both at the border and at trade. I’m exposing the truth.”

Adding, “I don’t have a racist bone in my body. I’m just exposing things that everybody knows is happening, but nobody wants to talk about.”

Trump is due in West Virginia at 7 p.m. on Thursday for an evening rally.
