Restaurant Owner Fires His Son After Customer Is Called 'Fatty' on Receipt

A Rhode Island man was left with a bad taste in his mouth after receiving his receipt at a local restaurant.

According to CNN, Dillon Arnold enjoyed a meal with friends at the All Stars Bar & Grill in Warwick, but was shocked when he received the check, which called him "fatty" in the area reserved for guests' names.

"I was signing my slip. I didn't really pay attention to it yet, and then I just happened to read it and I saw it in the corner," Arnold reportedly wrote in a now unavailable Facebook post. "I was like, 'Wow,' and my heart just dropped."

Arnold requested that Facebook users share the post, which had reportedly garnered over 850 shares and 100 comments by Wednesday night.

Since the story spread, All Stars Bar & Grill owner Tony Ambrosio told local NBC affiliate WJAR that he's since fired the server who waited on the table and delivered the check, revealing that it was his own son, who is no longer allowed on the property.

"I want to apologize to you, Dillon. From the bottom of my heart. I apologize," Ambrosio said on the network. "That's not the type of person that I am, my employees are, or my child."

Aside from his public address on WJAR, Ambrosio also reportedly left an apologetic comment on Arnold's Facebook post.

"We sincerely apologize for your negative experience last night," the message read, according to WJAR. "It was very unprofessional to say the least. We take full accountability for what occurred and would like to make it up to you. Please call me so I can offer you something for the inconvenience. This should not have happened and my staff will be dealt with right away."

Still, Ambrosio's comment may have been too little late, as Arnold reportedly pledged in his Facebook post to never return to the restaurant after his experience.

"I'll never go to All Stars on Airport Road again," he wrote in the post. "I usually don't care, but this bs got me offended. (The server) legit id me as 'fatty' then he wouldn't admit it. They lost mine and my friends (sic) business."
