Quadruple Amputee Uses Prosthetic Limbs to Apply Flawless Makeup

From Good Housekeeping

If you saw Kaitlyn Dobrow's makeup on any given day, you would instantly assume she was a pro. (Her most recent Instagram tutorial shows funky leopard makeup that's so perfect for Halloween.) But there's something truly exceptional about the way Dobrow accomplishes her looks: She uses her prosthetic arm to do 'em.

After Dobrow contracted bacterial meningitis in 2013, her arms and legs had to be amputated. She was initially wheelchair-bound and later received prosthetic legs and arms, giving her the mobility and independence she had done without for so long. This allowed her to walk on her own and attend cosmetology school in her town of Huntington Beach, California.

She told the OC Register in February about her optimism toward 2016:

"God told me 2016 is going to be my year. I'm excited but nervous to actually get my life started. I've been so coddled for years and so taken care of. Now I have to start doing it on my own."

Now, she's sharing her passion for makeup through beauty tutorials on Instagram and YouTube, including the aforementioned leopard design that turned out so cool:

On top of this Halloween-appropriate look, Dobrow has plenty of amazing lessons on typical, everyday makeup. For instance, this red lips and winged liner combo make for perfect pinup beauty:

Makeup isn't the only means by which Dobrow inspires people. She also shows off her scars in her photos, making it clear she's not remotely ashamed of them. In fact, she even admits to enhancing their color because she likes the hue so much:

Her talent at makeup is incredibly impressive, but the fact that she's devoting her time to instructing and inspiring others makes her a true role model.
