Pikachu Halloween Makeup That Is Strikingly Beautiful

Pokémon Go was undoubtedly one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of 2016. The colorful characters on the faded trading cards from our youth were brought to life thanks to the modern location-based reality game. While we’ve enjoyed discovering new Pokémon characters at work or the drugstore, Pickachu and his lightning-bolt-shaped tail is still one of our favorites.
So we asked Yahoo Style & Beauty Associate Editor Jihan Forbes to serve face for this Pikachu-inspired Halloween makeup, perfected by Make Up For Ever pro artist Ruben Garcia.
Step 1: Apply a base
Use the Ultra HD Stick Foundation and Ultra HD Concealer to even out skin tone, conceal blemishes, and add brightness under eyes. Be sure to groom eyebrows, filling in only where needed. Set base with Mist & Fix Setting Spray and wait a few minutes before moving on to the next step.
Step 2: Add face paint
Cover entire eyelids up to the brow bone with yellow cream pigment (Garcia used Artist Shadow 406). Press a matching powder on top for extra pop. Make it high-fashion by drawing winged liner on the right eye with Graphic Liner. Then outline the waterline using a charcoal-black pencil.
Trace circles onto apples of cheeks with Concealer Pencil to help symmetrically align bold blush. Then use a small brush to fill in with red Flash Color from the Multi-Use Cream Color Palette. Dab Artist Shadow 744 (a metallic poppy) on top for a touch of glitter.
Step 3: Add lightning bolt
Outline the design on the left eye using Concealer Pencil and fill in with a black felt pen like Graphic Liner.
Pro tip: Made a mistake? Dip a Q-tip in makeup remover and clean up edges. Wait at least one minute before reapplying makeup to ensure skin isn’t wet.
Step 4: Set makeup
Spray face with Mist + Fix to ensure that the look really lasts. With this conversation-starter Halloween makeup, you’ll be making friends just as easily as Pikachu does.
