One Mom's Facebook Post Begging Other Parents to Vaccinate Their Kids Is Going Viral

From Woman's Day

Annie Mae Braiden, of Canada, is experiencing a mother's worst nightmare as her infant daughter fights for her life in the pediatric intensive care unit. Her 10-week-old daughter, Isabelle, contracted whooping cough at just six weeks old and now Annie is urging other parents to vaccinate their children.

In an emotional Facebook post, the heartbroken mother shared 10 heartbreaking images of her infant connected to various tubes on a hospital bed. "I wasn't going to do this," she writes, "but I think people need to see what not vaccinating their kids [could] do to the OTHER kids, like my 6 week old daughter."

According to Annie, her little girl has spent three weeks on a ventilator and has to re-learn how to eat. "She's going through major withdrawals from the morphine and sedative she was on when she was ventilated. Do you know how hard it is to watch your 10 week old go through withdrawals?" she wrote. Her daughter will require two more months of hospitalization, she says.

Annie hopes that her daughter's heartbreaking health struggle will change the minds of parents who choose not to vaccinate their children. She wrote:

What you do with your kids is your choice but do not tell me that not vaccinating your kids isn't hurting anyone but your own kids; Isabelle is proof that it harms the other little babies who aren't old enough to get their vaccines yet.

She ends the moving post urging readers to share the post to show people the consequences of a child who goes unvaccinated. "It's not fair that my little girl is in the PICU coughing and not being able to breathe from a disease that shouldn't be around."

Her heart-wrenching post has over 37,000 shares and counting.
